Breaking News: Eva Mendes in Rehab- What Does This Mean for Her New Calvin Klein Deal?

Eva Mendes, full-time actress and part-time goddess is in rehab and has been for several weeks now. Granted, this story comes to Fashion Lawyer from fast-food media outlet TMZ, so it’s important to understand that not everything read there is true. That said, Mendes’ rep allegedly confirmed the star’s stay at Cirque Lounge and stated that Mendes has been struggling with issues for a year now.

Nonetheless, this begs the question, If Mendes really is in rehab, how will that affect her freshly inked deal with Calvin Klein to be the face of its brand-new women’s fragrance, due this fall?

Kate Moss got pulled from nearly all of her endorsement deals when she landed on London newspapers snorting cocaine several years ago. While Mendes’ alleged addiction problems are not as high profile, it will be interesting to see if she is replaced.

Tom Murry, president and chief operating officer of Calvin Klein Inc., was quoted as saying that Mendes, “exudes an effortless and unpretentious sensuality, which is perfectly in line with the Calvin Klein brand DNA.” Murry even compared her to predecessor Kate Moss, alluding to the fact that she has the qualities that make an excellent spokeswoman.
